the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives

as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

WAKE UP

Of false teachers and their teachings Be on your guard (KJV: beware*) so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. (2 Pet. 3:17)

One of the distinctive marks of Gods people is that they do not feel at home in this world and are looking forward to their heavenly home.

A Glimpse Into the New Heavens and the New Earth (Rev.21-22):
God will dwell with His people (v.3) No more death or mourning or crying or pain (v.4) Nothing impure will enter (v.27) No more curse (22:3) (We) will see His face (22:4)

by committing to evangelism and missionary work (v.9, 15).

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Mt.24:14)

by eagerly desiring His return. Let our prayer be: Come, O Lord (Marana tha) 1 Cor.16:22 Rev. 22:20 (KJV) Even so, Come, Lord Jesus.
