WHAT IS PHILOSOPHY ?

Philosophy was derived from the two Greek words philos (meaning to love) and sophia (meaning intelligent)

By combining the meaning of the two Greek words, the word philosophy can be explained as love of wisdom

METAPHYSICS
Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy which deals with the study of nature and origins concerning ultimate reality The basic of Aristotle metaphysics was related with the problems of the nature of substance and their causation (including the first cause or God) as well as the fundamental nature of Being which had become a subject in the branch of metaphysics known as Ontology According to Immanuel Kant, the concept metaphysics relating to reality or truth might simply be the result of cognitive structure contained in the human minds

EPISTEMOLOGY Epistemology is a branch of philosophy which is related to the study of knowledge Epistemologists ask questions like: What is knowledge?How can we acquire knowledge? How can we prove reality? What is the relationship between knowledge and learning?

AXIOLOGY
Another branch of philosophy is a study of values by asking the question :What is valuable? This branch of philosophy is usually classified into two main categories :ethics and aesthetics Ethical branch concerned with the study of moral values moral principles and behaviour as well as good nature. This branch is also known as moral philosophy. Aesthetics studied values concerning beauty and art. The term aesthetics was also derived from the Greek word which carried the meaning sense perceptions

LOGIC
Logic is a study of what really forms valid reasoning; it is related with efforts to find an approach which can differentiate between consistent ,valid reasoning with inconsistent, invalid reasoning. Logic is closely related to the three branches of philosophy , namely metaphysics ,epistemology and axiology which have been discussed earlier.

Philosophy of Islamic education was based on the teachings of the holy book,Al-Quran According to Hassan Langgung the important elements which become the basis of Islamic education are: -Only one Allah -Believe messengers of Allah -Believe divine revealment of Allah to the prophets -Human beings possess to develop moral and spiritual aspect -Every individual is responsible to his/her own doings. -Living in this world and in eternity -Equality and brotherhood among all Muslims in this world

Education according to Islam is the efforts to improve oneself so as to form perfect qualities such as pious, pure, benevolent, well-informed, responsible and trustworthy
