In The Book , Mr. Author discusses the struggles of

coming of age as a major theme through his use of literary devices. Sentence Two: Concrete Detail #1 For example, Mr. Author uses personification to give the toaster the ability to talk to Tommy, and give him life advice. The toaster says, Tommy, dont talk in class repeatedly throughout the novel, which is not something toasters commonly do (pg. 12). Sentence Three: Commentary #1 This use of personification enables Tommy and the toaster to have frequent discussions about life and growing up. Through these discussions, the reader is able to get a sense of Tommys struggles with the concept of aging.

How to Write Complete Sentence Responses

In a response of at least two complete sentences, write down

your predictions about the title of the short story Guns for Geeks. NO There will be some geeks in it, and probably guns. I would have NO IDEA what this meant, if I did not have the question to reference. IT IS NOT A COMPLETE SENTENCE!
YES! I predict from the title, Guns for Geeks, that the story will

probably be about some kind of violence, judging by the use of the word gun. There could also be some kind of bullying going on, too, if the guns are being given to the geeks.
