The Planets

The Sun
The Sun is a source of energy, light and heat. Without these things we would not be able to live! The Sun is always burning and is very hot! The Suns surface is about 100 times as hot as the hottest day on Earth!

Earth
Earth is the planet that we live on. Earth is the third planet from the sun. Earth revolves, or spins, around the sun. Earth spins very fast and spins all the way around in 24 hours!

Earth is the only planet that can support human life Earth is the only planet that has water on it and is made up of 75% water! Earth has a moon which is the one that we can see! It has craters and volcanoes.

Facts about the other planets!


Mercury is covered with craters and is completely dry. Venus is very bright and looks like a star from Earth. Mars is often called the red planet because of its color. Jupiter has at least 16 moons and maybe more! Saturn has many rings around it. Neptune is known for its dark spot that is actually a storm! Pluto is the smallest planet.
