Matthew 13:24-30
Jesus then told them this story: The kingdom of heaven is like what happened when a farmer scattered good seed in a field. But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and scattered weed seeds in the field and then left

When the plants came up and began to ripen, the farmers servants could see the weeds. The servants came and asked, Sir, didnt you scatter good seed in your field? Where did these weeds come from?

An enemy did this, he replied. His servants then asked, Do you want us to go out and pull up the weeds? No! he answered. You might also pull up the wheat.

Leave the weeds alone until harvest time. Then Ill tell my workers to gather the weeds and tie them up and burn them. But Ill have them store the wheat in my barn.

After Jesus left the crowd and went inside, his disciples came to him and said, Explain to us the story about the weeds in the wheat field.

Jesus answered: The one who scattered the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seeds are the people who belong to the kingdom. The weed seeds are those who belong to the evil one, and the one who scattered them is the devil.

The harvest is the end of time, and angels are the ones who bring in the harvest. Weeds are gathered and burned. Thats how it will be at the end of time.

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everyone who does wrong or causes others to sin. Then he will throw them into a flaming furnace, where people will cry and grit their teeth in pain.

The Mixed Community is caused by the ACTIONS of the Son of Man sowing good seeds and the Devil sowing weeds

But in the END, the truth will be REVEALED there are TWO Classes:

The Evildoers and the Righteous

THERE IS A JUGDGEMENT THERE IS A MIXTURE THERE IS GROWTH THERE MUST BE DISCERNMENT but not UPROOTING

THERE MUST BE A WAR ...

SINCE THERE IS AN ENEMY

Indeed, this very parable is a warning to all not to allow themselves to be influenced by the wicked one!
The enemy is always seeking to destroy us! - 1 Peter 5:8

But if we can allow the word of God to abide in us, we can overcome the wicked one - 1 John 2:14

The TARES False Christians

Satan cannot uproot the plants (true Christians), so he plants counterfeit Christians in their midst. In this parable, the good seed is not the Word of God. It represents people converted through trusting the Word.

The field is not human hearts; the field is the world.

Christ is sowing true believers in various places that they might bear fruit (John 12:23-26). But, wherever Christ sows a true Christian, Satan comes and sows
a counterfeit.

We must beware of Satans counterfeits. He has counterfeit Christians (2 Corinthians 11:26) who believe a counterfeit Gospel (Galatians 1:6-9). He encourages a counterfeit

righteousness
(Romans 10:1-3), and even has a counterfeit church (Revelations 2:9).

At the end of the age, he will produce a counterfeit Christ (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12). We must also stay awake to make sure that Satans ministers do not get into the true fellowship and do damage (2 Peter 2; 1 John 4:1-6). It is when Gods people go to sleep that Satan works.

OUR TASK IS NOT TO PULL OUT THE FALSE, BUT TO PLANT THE TRUE.

We must also stay awake to make sure that Satans ministers do not get into the true fellowship and do damage (2 Peter 2; 1 John 4:1-6).

We are not detectives but evangelists!

We must oppose Satan and expose his lies. But we must also sow the Word of God and bear fruit in the place where He has planted us.

ARE WE TO PURSUE PULLING OUT THE WEEDS (that would seem obvious)?

NO.
For one thing, we dont know if immature and innocent believers might be injured by our efforts.

Further, one has only to look at the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, and the reign of Bloody Mary in England to see the results of men taking upon themselves the responsibility of separating true believers from false, a
task

reserved for

God alone.

Instead of requiring these false believers to be rooted out of the world, and possibly hurting immature believers in the process, Christ allows them to remain until His return.
At that time, angels will separate the true from false believers.

In addition, we are not to take it upon ourselves to uproot unbelievers because the difference between true and false believers isnt always obvious.

Tares, especially in the early stages of growth, resemble wheat.

IN THE MIDDLE of our Discernment

In Matthew 7:22, Jesus warned that many profess faith but do not know Him. Thus, each person should examine his own relationship with Christ (2 Corinthians 13:5).

The Letter of 1st John is an excellent test of salvation.

ASSURED! You can know.

Coz you are living in the TRUTH.
Coz you SIN

less.

Coz your prayers are HEARD. Coz you LOVE.

Coz Christ is in

YOU.

Jesus introduced a

How wonderful that Jesus is still willing to welcome individuals.
