G(x): generador polinomial M(x): trama de datos R(x): residuo de dividir M(x) y G(x) T(x): trama a transmitir T(x)=M(x)+R(x) T(x) ser mltiplo de G(x)

802.3 vs ethernet II
Si el campo Frame Type tiene un valor <= 1518 (0x05FE), se considera del tipo 802.3, representanto la lonfigud de la trama. De lo contrario, se interpretara como trama del tipo Ethernet II, y este campo ser un codigo de trama asignado por Xerox > 1518.

802.1p
IEEE 802.1p es un estndar que permite ofrecer diferentes clases de trfico a diferentes niveles de prioridad. Da un mecanismo de implementacin de calidad de servicio a nivel MAC Quality of Service (QoS) Hay 3 bits para establecer la prioridad de acuerdo a la trama 802.1q
TPI:Identifica la trama como 801.1Q. Son valores fijos CFI: Indica si el orden de los bits es cannico o no
IEEE 802.1d
PASOS Elegir un bridge como raiz (Id ms baja) Encontrar rutas al root bridge. Determinar la ruta de menor costo al root bridge. Deshabilitar todas los otras rutas.
Suiches de nivel 3
Son suiches con capacidad de enrutar. Se usan para dividir las redes. A nivel 2 mediante VLANs y a nivel 3 para enrutar entre segmentos IP.
