Grand dad did you breathe before air cons were invented was it hard staying Alive without modern inventions? Grandma werent you flustered As you fluttered with paper fans? Could you communicate before faxes and long distance calls Became basic necessities?

Grandchild we lived before your age .Because of our ignorance, we did not know pollution, stress, traffic jams destruction of forests, streams and hills we feared God and nature now nature fears you and money is your new God Shanmughalingam

MALAYSIA - in the old days.

The child is very inquisitive and puzzled about how was it possible for the grandparents to live in a time where there was no modern facilities and how it must have been very frustrating for them to live with menial tools.

MALAYSIA NOW MODERN AND DEVELOPED

The grandparents then explains ......

although he or she had lived in an age where these advancements in technology was not yet felt and seen, they lived without the stress, traffic jams and the destruction of nature that such progress brings with it.

The grandparent says, progress has made those living in the modern times worship money as it is only with money that such gadgetry can be bought. Ironically, however, such conveniences come with a price to spirituality and peace of mind.

Meaning: The grandchild asks his grandmother whether she was angry when she had to cool herself with paper fans.

Could you communicate before faxes and long distance calls became basic necessities?

The grandchild wonders how his/her grandparents communicated before there were no facsimile machines and telephones. These are considered basic needs in our lives.

Grand child we lived before your age. Because of our ignorance, we did not know pollution, stress, traffic jams destruction of forests, streams and hills
The grandparent says that they lived at an

earlier time than the grandchild. However, since they were not educated, they didnt have to deal with pollution, stress, traffic jams and the damage of the natural environment.

We feared God and nature

Meaning: We were afraid of God and respected nature.

Now nature fears you and .. money is your new God

Meaning: Now, nature is being threatened by you and money has become your main focus.
