1769 - Nicholas Joseph Cugnot designs and M. Brezon constructs the first automobile.

1750 1876 - German, Nikolaus A. Otto designed and developed the first practical 4 stroke engine. 1896 - The company later named after him, Henry Ford produced his first car, the twocylinder quadricycle.

1885 1892 - German engineer, Rudolph Diesel constructed the first diesel engine. 1886 Daimler&Benz produced first automobile
