NUFFIELD MATHEMATICS PROJECT (NMP)

INTRODUCTION
Introduced in 1964 for primary schools in Britain Financed by the Nuffield Foundation and supported by the British Education Ministry.

MAIN AIM
To introduce a new approach and new method of teaching and learning of Maths for primary school students.

CHANGES
Primary School Maths Syllabus was rearranged from being : Simple to Complex Concrete to Abstract Nearby-experiences to Distance-experiences Dr.Geoffrey Matthews and a team of Mathematics writers published many guide books as well as teaching modules for teachers. Various learning instruments and worksheets were produced to be used during group activities.
