PREFACE The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority has laid down that all those who wish to become Insurance Agent shall have completed from an approved institution, at least, one hundred hours practical training and shall pass the examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai or any other examination body. The IRDA has designed the syllabus for the same and on its basis the Insurance Institute of India has published a book- IC-33 Revised (Life Insurance). There are 17 chapters in the book which deals in the matter that are basic and should be known to everybody in the Insurance Industry.

Though the contents of the book is simple and is being taught by the faculties at various ATCs/DTCs, it has been decided to standardize the module and develop power point presentations on each chapter so that the learning is more focused and the candidates are able to perform better. This training is only the beginning and it will be our endeavor to see our agents reaching greater heights. The role of Insurance agents is highly rewarding and they earn the gratitude of their customers. Learning is a never ending process and agents should continue to acquire more knowledge, skills and increase their competencies.
