Introduction of new technology via project work as Lead SQL DBA Download, install and test new SQL versions from MSDN Installation of SQL server on new hosts Implement mirroring and log shipping Implement SQL in a Cluster Environment Support the Developer during development stage through to UAT and Prod Analyse vendor provided scripts and then run them against databases after backing them up, providing feedback to vendor of success or failure Maintaining a version history of scripts run against databases Installation of new databases through Dev, UAT and Prod as per Project Capturing the database requirements for a new application and documenting in the Wiki Post-installation of SQL server on new host e.g. set up backup jobs, maintenance plan, alerts Investigate and resolve complex technology problems Documentation of installation of software and resolution of problems Documentation of installation of SQL and post-installation procedures and placing in wiki Documentation of Application Specific information e.g. DNS aliases, SQL settings etc. Documentation of problem resolution Define and document standards and processes Participation in On-call Roster Participation in Team Meetings
