Many people teach that the Torah was not given until Mt. Sinai. But I propose that Mt. Sinai was a re-introduction of the Torah. Following are some examples of clear Torah laws understood prior to Mt. Sinai.
-Sabbath -Not adding or taking from Yahwahs word -The niddah laws -Homosexuality -Incest
Look at the Garden of Eden alone and see what Torah commandments were plainly broken: -Covetousness -Stealing -Greed -Lust of the eyes -Distrust of Yahwah -Following a false god -Idolatry -Fleshly appetite -Self-exaltation -Denial -Blaming
In all I have identified to date, 86 sins and/or sinful patterns of behavior that can be traced back to the Garden of Eden.
Can you imagine, Yahwah flooding the Earth to destroy all mankind, without telling them His Torah and providing them an opportunity to repent?
Can you imagine, Yahwah destroying all the souls of Sodom and Gomorrah, without telling them His Torah and providing them an opportunity to repent?
Do we really believe that He allowed 3500 years to pass and the destruction of the Earth by flood, and destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire, to pass before He decided to finally get around to telling people that it is wrong to:
Understand that to this very day, people practice these abominations, even people who know what the Torah says.
The Scriptures say that Noach was a preacher of righteousness; 2 Kepah (2 Peter) 2:5 Mizmor (Psalm) 119:172 says that all Yahwahs commandments are righteousness
How can one preach righteousness, if His Torah of righteousness had not yet been revealed to the inhabitants of the Earth?
3:4 Whoever sins violates the Torah, for sin is the violation of Torah.
Avrahams Knowledge of Torah 26:5 because Abraham obeyed My voice, and guarded and preserved My commandments as defined and ordained in My Laws.
Burnt offerings and sin offerings as evidence of Torah Take note that sin offerings and burnt offerings were offered up from the time of Abel, to Noach, to Yyob, all the way up to Avraham and beyond, and that if there had been no knowledge of Torah during that time that there would have, likewise, been no need for the burnt offerings and sin offerings.
5:17 Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets; I did not come to destroy them, but to bring them out in fullness.
King Yeshuas Word on the Torah 5:18 For truly I say to you, that until the heavens and the Earth pass, not the smallest stroke of the pen will pass from the Torah until all things have been brought to completion.
King Yeshuas Word on the Torah 5:19 Whoever therefore breaks the least of these commandments and teaches others so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven, and whoever does and teaches them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
7:12 Therefore, the Torah is holy, and the commandment holy, and just and good. 7:14 the Torah is spiritual
Romans 8:6-9
8:8 So then those who are in the flesh cannot please Him. 8:9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, IF indeed the Ruach of Yahwah dwells in you
Back to Shaul
Romans 6:1,2, 12
6:1What shall we say then? Shall we continue to violate Torah so that His grace may abound?
6:2 Of course not! For how can we who died to Torah violation, live any longer therein?
Back to Shaul
Romans 6:1,2, 12
6:12 Therefore, do not let the desire to violate Torah reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
119:151 You are near O Yahwah, and all Your commandments are Truth.
3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous even as He is righteous.
Yahuchanans (Johns) Word on Torah I Yahuchanan (I John) 3:6-10 3:9 Whoever has been born of Yahwah does not continue to violate Torah, for His Seed remains in him, and he cannot continue to violate Torah, for he has been born of Yahwah. 3:10 And in this the children of Yahwah and the children of the Evil One is revealed
Avraham was Given the Promise 430 years prior to the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai
Bresheet (Genesis) 26:4,5
Avraham Kept and Guarded the Torah And the Promises given to Avraham were passed down to Yitzak because Avraham was faithful to walk blamelessly in the Torah. Bresheet (Genesis) 17:1; 26:4,5
So some other law was given at Mt. Sinai that had not existed prior. Something new. What?
5:20 idol worship, sorcery, hatred, argumentativeness, jealousy, outburst of wrath, selfish pursuits, bitterly driven divisions, spreading of false doctrines,
Galatians 5:19-21
5:21 envy, murder, drunkenness, partying, and the like, of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who
The Apostle Shaul says the same and/or similar things in: I Corinthians 6:9,10
Ephesians 5:3-6
Colossians 3:5-9 So clearly the moral laws are being taught here.
What Does Shaul say about Ceremonial Uncleanness Ephesians 5:3-6 5:5 for this you know, that no one who engages in premarital relations, no unclean person, nor covetous man, nor idol worshipper, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Messiah and of Elohim.
6:18 And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says Yahwah El Shaddai.
What Does Shaul say about Ceremonial Uncleanness The word in these two passages translated as unclean come from the Greek word: (A-kar-tha-tus)
and means ceremonial uncleanness
What about the Sacrifices? And in verse 24:21 that it is only because of his message concerning the Messiah Yeshua and the resurrection of the dead that people took issue with him.
So the Brit Chadasha speaks loudly and clearly about the necessity of obedience to our Fathers Torah. And the Apostle Shaul himself, the Apostle to the Nations (to the Gentiles) taught not just the Moral aspect of the Torah, but also the ceremonial, and himself offered up sacrifices at the Temple.
Additionally, concerning the future, -Malachi 4:4,5 says to remember the Torah before the Day of Wrath of Yahwah comes. -Zecharyahu (Zechariah) 14 says that the nations of Gentiles will be compelled to go to Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Sukkot every year; and,
Yeshyahu (Isaiah) 66:16,17 says that those who eat pigs flesh shall be among those who are consumed in Yahwahs wrath.
And ULTIMATELY The remnant of Yahwahs people whom the beast/false messiah seeks to destroy, are those Who obey the commandments of Yahwah and have the Testimony of Yeshua Hitgalut (Revelation) 12:17 & 14:12
As it says in Yeshyahu (Isaiah) 8:20 To the Torah and the Testimony, If ANYONE does not speak according to these words, it is BECAUSE they have NO LIGHTin them.
Yahwahs standard that defines the Way of Life and path of Death for us so that we may choose Life and Live.
That Yahwah has given us Eternal Life, and that this Life is in His Son; I Yahuchanan (I John) 5:11 Who gave His life for us for the Remission of Torah violations that are past; Romans 3:24,25
So if all these things are so, then what on Earth is Galatians talking about then?
Temple Times in Yeshuas Day Why are the Scriptures silent? Or are they?
Some Examples of Different types of Laws Spoken of in the Brit Chadasha -Law of sin -Law of the spirit (the Torah) -Human/civil law -Temple Law/Law of sacrifices
So whenever we read something that says law we have to determine from the context of the passage and related Scriptures which law is currently being referred to.
In Ephesians 2:14,15
Hehas broken down the middle wall of division between us (between Jew and Gentile)
Having abolished in His flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in human ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, bringing shalom.
Here is an example of a place where the law is referring specifically to the Levitical Order of sacrifices.
Hebrews 10:1
10:1 For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.
Hebrews 9:11
But Mashiach came it says. ______________________________ Did you know, the whole expectation of the Jewish people in King Yeshuas day was not to be freed from Elohims righteous Instruction contained in His Torah, but to see the coming of the long awaited Messiah, the Seed of Havah, who would deliver us from sin and death, and ultimately from our enemies.
(picture yourself reading this as a Jew with all the background I just gave you) 9:11 But Mashiach came as Cohen haGadol of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect mishkan (tabernacle) not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
9:12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained an eternal redemption for us.
9:13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, and the sprinkling of the ceremonially unclean, sanctified to the purification of the flesh,
9:14 Then how much more shall the Blood of Mashiach (ben Yoseph), Who through the eternal Ruach offered Himself without spot to Yahwah, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the Living Elohim? 9:15 For this reason, He is the Mediator of the Brit Chadasha, through His death, for the redemption of the violations of Torah committed under the prior covenant, that those who are called may receive the Promise of the eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15 For this reason, He is the Mediator of the Brit Chadasha, through His death, for the redemption of the violations of Torah committed under the prior covenant, that those who are called may receive the Promise of the eternal inheritance.
Galatians 3:19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of violations of Torah until the Seed should come to who the Promise was made; and appointed by heavenly Messengers through the hand of a Mediator.
So does the Book of Evreem (Hebrews) talk about how the Torah has been allegedly done away, or about how there has been a change in priesthood from the Levitical Order back to the Melchizadoc Order of priesthood?
