PHYSICAL SETTING
Port of Salvador (Brazil) Crusoes resides here after being rescued by an English captain. He becomes a farmer. After nine years, his friends ask him to join them sailing to Guinea The island (somewhere south of Carribean Sea) Crusoe spends his life on this island alone for 28 years. During this period of time, he learns a lot of things and gains valuable experiences. England after being rescued by a passing ship, he returns back to England.

Themes
1. Survival against all odds In this novel, Crusoe finds himself stranded on an island after a shipwreck. He is the only survivor. He does not have with him food supplies or any other basic necessities. Even though he is afraid, he accepts his fate bravely. He learns to do a lot of things in order to survive. He makes his own shelter, pottery and clothes. As a result, he manages to stay alive in the island for more than 28 years. He faces many difficulties and struggles a lot in order to survive

Loyalty and friendship companionship and friendship are important in our lives. Without these two, our lives would be miserable. Being te solo survivor of a shipwreck, Crusoe feels lonely. After living alone for 25 years, he finally finds a human companion ( Mr. Friday). Even though they do not share the same language, culture and belief, they still remains as good friend. They value their friendship and always be there for each other

Bravery and courage One of the main reasons why Crusoe manages to survive in because he is brave and courageous. He is brave to accept the fate that he has to live on the island alone. He faces many obstacles and struggles in order to build a comfortable life on the island. He is also brave because he risks his life to save others.
4. Faith and hope Crusoe knows that no one can save him accept himself. Although most of the attempts that he makes failed, he has never given up hope. He is optimistic that someday he will return to his country. He also has a strong faith in God. He believes that God will help him through his life on the island. He teaches Friday about his religious beliefs, and the goodness and power that come with having faith in God.
Moral Values
1. We must value our family and friends 2. We must never give up hope. If there is a will, there is a way 3. We must think positively. We must see challenges as opportunities 4. We must have faith in God. There is always a reason for a thing to happen 5. Learning is a never-ending process. There are many things that we can learn from our surroundings
6.If there are problems, we must not run from them. Instead, we have to find ways to overcome them 7.Friendship is a beautiful thing. From friendship there is a lot that we can learn from each other. 8.People in different races, customs, beliefs and languages can live in peace and harmony if they learn to accept each other
Character Analyses
ROBINSON CRUSOE 1. Rebellious He runs away from home because he wants to be a sailor. He rebels against his parents wishes who want him to be a lawyer
2. Adventurous
He likes to travel, therefore, he wants to be a sailor. While on the island, he ventures into new things and experiences new situations, some of which are dangerous.
3. Optimistic
When he is on the island, he tries to get out of the island for a few times. Even though his attempts always fail, he is not discouraged to continue trying. He is also confident of himself, therefore he is able to live a comfortable life.

Creative He is neither a carpenter nor a potter, but he is able to build his shelter and make pottery for his daily use. He takes a long time to finish these tasks but he still does them until they are completed. He also makes oil lamps, clothes and other things in order to make his life on the island comfortable
5. Intelligent
He is knowledgeable and knows a lot about mathematics and navigation through his voyages
6. Adaptable
He is able to adapt himself to new surroundings. As he travels a lot, this quality is important. He is also able to live alone on an island for more than 28 years
7. Determined
When he was a servant to the Turkish captain, he plans to escape, which shows his determination. While on the island he tries many times to get out of the island and is not discouraged through his attempts failed
8. Resourceful
He is clever at finding ways of doing things. For example, he manages to make oil lamps with goats fat, and also dries some fruits to vary his diet
9. Cautious
He is very careful with everything that he does. He makes sure that his home and its neighbourhood are safe. For example, his fort does not have an entrance, but has an emergency exit in which he would use to escape if he needed to
10. Courageous
he is alone on the island and is able to defend himself from any danger. He also risks his life to save others. He fights the cannibals who are known as men eating people

Loyal he becomes Crusoes loyal companion on the
