Team Assignment:

Investigating individuals Map and GIS use through casual interactions

Increasing access to GIS and

geospatial data, along with proliferation of mobile and GPS devices, has created increased map use for work and daily activities from people in all walks of life. Map and GIS librarians need to know what types of maps and geospatial information their users are seeking in order to better provide the information to their users.

Library professionals have the opportunity to take advantage of this evolving technology and Library Pro the interests that library users have in it. Transforming the library professional into a geoliterate sevice provider will open the communication channel to a whole new level. Eva Dodsworth (2012)

CONCLUSIONS
-More people prefer modifying pre-made maps to making their own -Younger people use interactive maps more than older people, who still prefer printed or online static maps -Online mapping programs becoming more common and easy to use, and overall use should continue to increase -It is important for Map & GIS Librarians to understand their users mapping and geospatial information needs in order to properly provide the information being sought, but also to have the ability to instruct users on how to analyze and use geospatial information and maps in beneficial ways
