X-ray Films
Film:- . A thin transparent sheet of cellulose acetate or similar material coated on one or both sides with an emulsion that is sensitive to light or radiation. X rays are electromagnetic radiation that differentially penetrates structures within the body and creates images of these structures on photographic film or a fluorescent screen PURPOSE:- useful in detecting abnormalities within the body. They are a painless, non-invasive way to help diagnose problems such as broken bones, tumors, dental decay, and the presence of foreign bodies.

Types of Xray films

Class 1: This class has the highest signal-to-noise ratio and includes such films as Agfa D2, Kodak Type R, and Fuji IX 25. These are, considered high detail resolution films and should be employed when the most sensitive radiograph is desired. Class 2: This class is considered as high in signal-to-noise ratio and includes such films as Agfa D4, Kodak Type M, and Fuji IX 50. Class 3: These films have a moderate signal-to-noise ratio and include Agfa D5, Kodak Type T, and Fuji IX 59 with screen. Class 4: These high-speed films, by comparison, are considered to have a low signal-to-noise ratio and include Agfa D7, Kodak Type AA, and Fuji IX 100.

Forecasting
Hospitals will give an estimation to distributors for 3 weeks respectively. This information will be passed to the suppliers. Depending on the lead time( time taken to transport), suppliers will dispatch the films. The stimation will be given every week for 3 weeks respectively, which will help to forecast.

Tracking order
Distributor has a software, which is linked to both hospitals( each hospital) and supplier. Hospitals will make an entry of the order needed and this entry can be seen by the supplier. He will accordingly load the X-ray films and ship them and enter the details of shipment onto the software. Hospitals can track whether their order is dispatched. When hospitals receive it, they will enter in the software which will help the suppliers and Distributors to keep a track.

Inventory
Cycle inventory:- average amount of inventory used to satisfy demand. XRays:- needed on a regulkar basis, and amount is known in general. exploits economies of scale.
