GURU MANTRAS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF EMPLOYEES

The success of a business and organisation depends on the effective and efficient working of human resources in the organisation. There is need of 5 Ms(man, money, material, methods & machines) for running any organisation. Only man has mind and by using his mind properly, he can utilise other four resources and bring success in business. Therefore the success of any business can be achieved by the successful management of human resources.

The entrepreneur is the leader of an organisation and he may achieve success in his business by proper management of his employees. Here certain guru mantras for the successful management of the employees are being presented.

A. DEVELOPMENT Of YOUR EMPLOYEES


1. Lead employees with the flag in hand Entrepreneur is the leader of his business team. The speed of leader is the speed of team. The organisation is lengthened shadow of entrepreneur. The character, goodwill and reputation (CGR) of entrepreneur will give impact on business. Therefore, the entrepreneur(leader)should lead the team with the flag in his hand so that employees can follow behind.

2. Understand the Pygmalion effect to empower employees Subconscious thoughts play an important role in actions and decisions towards others. Pygmalion effect is self-fulfilling prophecy". Successful entrepreneur believes that employees can take decisions so involve them in decision making and empower them.

3. Build self-respect of employees Take actions to build self-respect(self-esteem) of employees-brick by brick. Catch employees who do something right. Give security, education, training, money, challenge, job satisfaction and respect to them. Teach them discipline by setting examples.

4. Employees success is entrepreneurs success Entrepreneur gets liberty, success and happiness when he share with employees. 5.Forgive employees mistakes gracefully Even the chairman's pencil has an eraser on it. Chairman can also make mistakes. Admit your own mistakes and forgive those of employees quickly and gracefully.

6. Make a winning team Team-together everyone achieves more. Working together works well Five principles for building winning team Do not think that it is management team. Have equity of sacrifice. Get along with employees. Put your self in their shoes. Practice good communication.

B. Manage your employees


1.Try to bend employee's mind Entrepreneur pays to employees for their mind. Man has mind so able to think. On an average man uses 10% of his mind. Need to open mind to get entered good ideas in and bad ideas to go out. Press the employee's mind gently otherwise it will burst like balloon if pressed tightly. Bend employee's mind to think positive, not negative.

2.Utilise employee's time properly Remember you buy employee's time Manage employee's time as you manage money Return on invested time is as important as return on invested money. Do important jobs now before they become urgent. Employees time is valuable resource.

3.Effective communication with employee Good communication is brahamastra including all body language Learn how to listen employees. Learn to tune into employees. Talking with them outside the office may help.

4.Avoid putting round employees into squares holes Do not put employee in boring job. Provide job on basis of his capability and liking. Keep rotating the job of employees till square employees come to a square hole.

5.Delegate but do not forget Delegation is an art and learned by making our own mistake. Delegate responsibilities and authorities to suitable, qualified and capable employee. Follow up list for whom job has been assigned. Checkup progress of jobs on daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly and so on.

6. Learn to conduct good meetings Never conduct meetings without proper agenda. Start meeting in time to spread punctuality. Make meeting in effective way to inform, discuss, create, decide and plan. Get good feedback after every meeting. Learn from answers and suggestions.

C. Motivate employees
1.Train employees to get along with each other Develop good human relations among employees as every one is important in organisation. Train them to say thank you and sorry. Teach employees to accept praise gracefully and learn from criticism .

2.Encourage employees to become customer oriented All organisations exist due to customer so customer is boss. Customer is profit and he is very whimsical. Handle a difficult customer with care. Put your foot in customer shoes.

3.Stretch employees Have a suggestions schemes to solve problems. Identify problem and get suggestion to solve it. Examine suggestions according to fixed criteria. Award prize for appropriate suggestions. Encourage self initiators. Appropriately reward to self initiators.

4.Solve employees problems Every one has problem small or big. Solve problems & provide opportunities. Tough times never last but intelligent people do.

5.Motivate employees to think. Human mind is like parachute, it works only when it is open. Do not humiliate & criticize them. Praise and recognise them, these are equivalent to wages. Try to see things through their eyes.

6.Cure obnoxious employees Some employee are egoistic and exhibit unattractive traits frequently. They are not dependable employees. Take care and use remedy to cure such persons.

BY USING ABOVE GURU MANTRAS EMPLOYEES MAY BE MANAGED AND MOTIVATED FOR DOING THE WORK EFFECTIVELY & EFFICIENTLY WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR ACHIEVING THE GOALS AND GETTING SUCCESS IN THE ORGANISATION.
