In what manner the limited technology in the teaching learning process affects students from the English Language Major at Universidad Tecnolgica?
General objective To identify the consequences of the limited technology in the teaching learning process of the English Language Major at Universidad Tecnolgica.
Specific Objectives To specify what type of instructional technology is currently used in the English Language Major. To analyze what type of competences the teachers and students have developed through the use of current technology. To identify what competences students and teachers gain through the use of adequate high technology.
The research is focused to give the necessary importance of implementation and improvement of high technology in the teaching learning process of the English Language Major. Adequate instructional technology is considered to accelerate and improve learning on a number of fronts. So, the learning activities should be
Instructional or educational technology should be integral to teaching practice and not viewed as an add-on to teaching (Chism, 2004, p. 43). Instructional technology can influence and improve learning. Technology can improve teaching and learning by increasing teacher and student efficiency and reaching different learning styles.
Technology has led to increased data from students on a regular basis to track progress
toward meeting benchmarks as well as track their progress throughout their school careers (Halverson & Smith, 2010). Nelson, Palonsky, and McCarthy (2010) stated that students today need to develop technological knowledge, skills, and attitudes in order to become successful members of society. Students are more engaged in learning when technology is involved, and technology can aid in learning being more tailored to specific learners needs (Nelson, Palonsky, & McCarthy, 2010).
The study of the English language allows to analyze and evaluate the language from the point of view: phonological, syntactic, morphological, semantic and lexical as in human communication. To complete this aspect, it is necessary that the functions of teaching, research and outreach, are ideal components in the teaching-learning process for the acquisition of the language.
