Objective Of Study
To study the importance of distribution system. To understand the customer preference of brands. To study about the motives for retailers to promote Periyar rice. To understand the different functions of different departments.

Industry Profile
Kerala is a consumer state. The changing life-style of people. The latest of the 'ready to eat' kind of tinned and preserved foods. 19% of the total industrial production and employing around 18% of the national force. Asia is the biggest rice producer, accounting for 90% of the world's production and consumption of rice.

Company Profile
Periyar rice was founded by K.P. Devassykutty (19261999). The company was incorporated in 1995. The Chirackal Modern rice mill was started in 1991. The unit started manufacturing rice and the brand was called Periyar The machineries are imported form Japan. The company has today expanded its activity into the Instant Mixes & Pickles fields
