Mission statement: To facilitate and promote the progress of engineering and the international exchange of information and knowledge in the field of System Technical Performance. To add value to this information and knowledge by means of synthesizing state-of-the-art practices and developing recommendations. Scope: SC C4 is responsible for methods and tools for analysis related to power systems. At present, the following fields are those on which the activity is being carried out Power Quality Electromagnetic Compatibility/Electromagnetic Interference (EMC/EMI) Insulation co-ordination Lightning Advanced Tools for the Analysis of Power Systems Performance Power systems dynamic performance models and analysis

Among the 44 constituent members: 19 are from Research Organizations and Universities, 18 from Utilities, and 7 from Regulators, Manufacturers or other entities.

Power Quality PQ contracting; Reliability improvement assessment; Sustainable technical performance measures and reporting. EMC/EMI Influence of power installations on other installations; The ELF magnetic fields: characteristics and mitigation methods; EM vulnerability.
Insulation coordination Critical review of existing practice; UHV systems; Oil filled transformers; Fast transients: interaction between system and transformers.
Lightning Critical review of lightning parameter statistics; attachment process; correlation between lightning and voltage dips; protection of wind generators Transversal subjects Advanced theories/tools for surge propagation studies and for dynamic performance assessment. Power systems dynamic performance models and analysis Tools for power balancing assessments; Risk-based security assessment .
