Citi has been operating in Pakistan since 1961 and has a highly respected franchise through its successful delivery of innovative, high-quality banking products and services to its customers. It has many firsts to its credit including launching the first Credit Card in Pakistan, pioneering Consumer Asset financing and introducing the first 24x7 call centre.

With more than 1,100 employees, Citi Pakistan operates through two major business lines- the Global Consumer Group and Citi Markets & Banking, providing a variety of services to more than 200,000 consumer & corporate clients. Citi has steadily expanded its network over the last two years and now has 23 branches and 39 customer contact points across 10 cities in Pakistan.

In an effort to play an active role in the development of the communities it operates in, Citi, through its philanthropic arm, the Citi Foundation, continues to support several initiatives in Pakistan in the areas of Corporate Governance, Microfinance development and Financial Education. Over the past 4 years a total of $2,658,000 has been allotted as grants to various social sector partners in pursuance of this goal.

Citi, the Citi Foundation, and Citi Alumni supported the construction of the Citi Friends of TCF Mansehra Campus as part of the earthquake relief efforts in 2005. We have committed to providing operating costs for this girls school for the next ten years (2009 onwards)

Citi and the Citi Foundation have joined hands with the Pakistan Microfinance Network to launch Phase II of their flood relief efforts. Citi, the Citi Foundation and Citi Alumni have contributed more than $425,000 toward the recent flooding disaster in the country. Through these programs, Citi, the Citi Foundation and PMN had an impact on almost 2 million micro entrepreneurs in Pakistan in the aftermath of the floods.

Over 85 Citi volunteers participated in the 'Citi Supports Students with Learning Difficulties' Volunteer Day at the Foundation for Rehabilitation and Education of Special Children.

Citi Celebrated Earth Week by launching the 'Citis Promise to the Environment' initiative. Over 50 Citi employees and their families spent the day at the orphanage and engaged with the children in various environment related/ entertainment activities at the SOS Village.

Citi Pakistan organized 3 Blood Donation Drives with the Fatimid Foundation. The blood donated will be used to treat adults and children suffering from Thalassaemia and Haemophilia, blood disorders that require frequent transfusions.

Citi and the Citi Foundation have provided a total of USD $35,000 to join hands with the Sarhad Rural Support Program and The Hunar Foundation to sponsor students in Pakistan, for attaining vocational training and postsecondary education. The funding will also be used by the Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) to fund : Secondary education for Pakistani students. Electrician Welding Plumbing General Fitting trades This project will help decrease unemployment in Pakistan and provide greater incentive to low-income groups to attain education, as it is likely to result in improving livelihoods.
