Introduction to Manufacturing Processes

Numerous processes and operations can be

involved in the manufacture of products and components. These shape-producing processes are grouped into four basic families: 1. SOLIDIFICATION 2. Forming and Shaping 3. Machining 4. Joining

The role of computers

Computers play important roles in todays

industry. Automation (ancient Greek: = self dictated) or industrial automation or numerical control is the use of control systems such as computers to control industrial machinery and processes, replacing human operators.
