Did you know that According to the World Health Organization there are one billion smokers around the world, six million of them die every year?
Purpose
I made this presentation to inform you about the bad effects of smoking, not only on the smokers, but also on others around them.
Smoking
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), smoking causes more deaths each year than all of these combined:
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
Gun-related deaths Because Smoking is very dangerous and harmful to everyone, I hope this presentation will help you to convince the smokers you know to stop smoking.
The serious effects of smoking harm every organ in the smokers body and could lead to death.
Credibility
To make this presentation I have done a lot of research and found studies to prove the information that I have included in my presentation.
Main points
First, I will speak about the effects of smoking on smokers. Second, I will speak about second-hand smoking.
Finally, I will show some statistics about the number of smokers in KSA, UK, and USA.
Effect of smoking
To begin with, smoking causes many health related problems, such as stroke and coronary heart diseases, which is the leading cause of death in the US according to CDC. Even people who smoke less than five cigarettes a day can have signs of cardiovascular disease. In addition, blockages caused by smoking reduce blood flow to your organs.

Smoking is one of the factors that increase your risk of Osteoporosis (decrease in bone mass and density). Tobacco's chemicals harm our blood cells and the function of our heart. For example, it causes heart attacks, coronary artery disease, and stroke. Each cigarette you smoke damages your breathing process. It could cause Pneumonia, and Emphysema (COPD: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
We all know a lot about smoking, but do we all know about Secondhand smoking ? According to a study from the World Health Organization (Known also as WHO) there are six hundred thousand people who die from second hand smoking (SHS) every year. Second hand smoking kills your friends, family, and many other innocent people. According to CDC, SHS may causes:
Heart diseases
Lung cancer SIDS (sudden Infant death syndrome)
Number of smokers
Finally, I will show you statistics about the number of smokers: According to SaudiGazzete.com, there are six million in Saudi Arabia who spend 45 million a day, 16.5 billion a year, to buy cigarettes !!! According to CDC, 42.1 million or 18.1% of USA people smoke.
According to the daily mail on-line, bellow 20% of British people smoke.
What I discussed
First, I explained the effects of smoking. Second, I explained the effects of smoking on others. Finally, I showed statistic about number of smokers.
Remember
Smoking harms you, and could lead you to death.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Smoking or being affected by others who smoke causes a lot of diseases which leads to death at the end.
