The Instructional Core
• “It is impossible to teach
without the courage to love,
without the courage to try a
thousand times before giving
up. In short, it is impossible to
teach without a forged,
invented, and well-thought-out
capacity to love.”

RTI2

• LD 4: how we do our work:

• Focus on good first teaching
Multiple Pathways
• The multiple pathway effort is supported by
the California Department of Education and
the State Superintendent of Schools. It is
being resourced by ConnectEd and the Irvine
Foundation with significant amounts of
money.
Multiple Pathways

• The goal of multiple pathways is to

improve student achievement by
preparing students for both
college/university/trade school and
careers.
Multiple Pathways
• The goal is to help all students gain
the necessary 21st century skills that
are used in colleges and in the work
place. Therefore, the career themes
already established become the basis
for improving academic achievement
for all students.
School Report Cards

• A tool for discussion among staff

and community.
