ADVERB
Word which modifies or adds to the meaning of a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. 1. She came yesterday. (came = verb; yesterday = adverb) 2. It is very bad. (bad = adjective; very = adverb) 3. He spoke quite loudly. (loudly = adjective; quite = adverb)
Adverbs may be divided, according to their use, into many kinds. The most important of them are.
Adverbs of Time, which show when an action is done. e.g. before, now, since, then, soon, already, seldom a) Have we met before b) Do it now adverbs of place, which show where an action is done. e.g. here, there, everywhere, nowhere He came here yesterday. I sat there.
Adverb of Manner, which show how an action is done. e.g. badly, easily, slowly, well, quickly He writes badly. They walked quickly.
Adverbs of Degree or Quantity which answer the question how much or to what degree e.g. almost, much, only, quite, very She walked very slowly. He reads much.
