Michael Argle (1972) claimed using the communication cycle is a skill that could be developed like learning to drive a car. He believed his theory was the most important theory a cycle of building understanding using an active process of reflecting on and checking out what the other person is trying to communicate. [1]

SOLER- EGAN'S THEORY


Egan (1986) came up with a theory which states there are 5 basic skills to help create involvement and care when working someone. They were based on his North American experience. He said The important issue is that your nonverbal behaviour comes across to another person as meaning that you are interested and involved with them. [2]

Hayes Residential Home At the Hayes I saw the SOLER theory demonstrated when a member of staff was talking to a resident who was sitting by herself Pre-prep school I saw this theory demonstrated on my first arrival when the teacher was having a one to one conversation with a parent
