Decide how many factors, what levels, type of design

Set up the Experimental Question & Design Open Minitab From the Stat Menu, choose DOE Create Factorial Design Choose the Number of Factors Choose the Designs Button

Open the Project in Minitab

From the Stat Menu, Choose DOE Analyze Factorial Design

Choose the response Choose the Graphs Button

Choose Pareto Plot

Choose OK

Choose OK

Check diagnostics: Does the Normal Plot look like a straight line? Residuals versus fits look random? Residuals versus order look random?
If not, try adding/removing model terms or a transformation of the data Pareto Plot: Can you distinguish important factors from the unimportant?

From the Stat menu, choose: DOE Factorial Plots Choose Main Effects and Interaction Plots

For each plot choose Setup and: Select the response Select all the factors with the >> button
Select OK when done Determine important factors and/or interactions

Calculating Transformations
From the Calc menu, choose: Calculator Choose a name for the Store result in variable space Under Expression, create the function by using the calculator buttons (+,-) or the functions listed in the Functions box Columns from the current worksheet are given on the left
