What is QlikView
Technically - it is a logical inference engine with a visual user interface that utilizes color coding and group
theory to display the possible combinations of field values.
Informal - QlikView is described in terms of associative and works like you think.. Recognizing that the
human train of thought is not linear and predictable, they started to market QlikView as a tool that supports the
way the brain works. The brain associates and contemplates. It turns questions around and looks for the
opposite, the excluded.








QlikView is the tool to bridge the gap between man and machine.
It involves exploring the data. It involves discovering new
facts. It involves playing with data, turning them around,
scrutinizing the facts and formulating a relevant question.
It involves conducting analysis to get an answer to the
question. And, finally, it involves presenting the answer to
the question to other people as a basis for a decision or an

About QlikView

Once loaded into the
program, the data is
presented in an intuitive and
easy-to-use interface. To
make selections in QlikView,
you dont need any previous
knowledge of databases or
search routines: you simply
click on the item of which
you want to know more, and
the program immediately
filters the data and presents
all associated items.
QlikView offers a wide variety
of graphs, charts and tables in
different formats to present
your data the way you want.
Different views, zoom,
grouping or animation create
a deeper understanding and

printed or exported to other

Connecting SFDC with QlikView
QlikView for Salesforce.com is a native connector within QlikView, permitting a transparent and intuitive means
for QlikView developers to access data from Salesforce.com.

Installed as an add-on adapter, the .dll-based connector instantly offers a view into all out-of-the-box and
custom fields within a Salesforce.com deployment, including Chatter data and archived data.

Because it is a native connector, the speed at which data is accessed
and loaded into a QlikView application is extremely fast.

QlikView Capabilities
Associative search is a simplified, everyday search tool embedded in QlikView. It helps people find data using the
keywords that make sense to them. They can explore data knowing only associated facts they can find data
even when they dont know the data structure or syntax. They can search using keywords and let QlikView find
the permutations.

Dealing with billions of data records for ad hoc analysis means high processing demands for data reload.
QlikView addresses this with incremental data loads, thereby decreasing refresh times from hours to minutes and
reducing the load on underlying data stores.

QlikView offers hundreds of possible chart and table types and varieties: list boxes for exploring and selecting
data dimensions, statistics boxes, charts and graphs, and many other visual interface elements.

QlikView can extract and transform data from one or more sources (e.g., ERP, text, Excel, and XML). QlikView is
click-driven and provides state-of-the-art visualization capabilities using dashboard-style charts, graphs, and
tables. Users quickly find information at their fingertips even when on the road, using mobile devices.
