OBJECTIVES

To enable pupils to:

Master the Scientific Skills which includes;
- Science Process Skills (7 SPS)
- Science Manipulative Skills (5 SMS)
Strengthen the knowledge and understanding
on the theories and concepts in science.
Inculcate the Scientific Attitudes and Noble
Values
INSTRUMENTS
Practical work and report
Field trip
Class-room activities (eg. simulation, role play)
Folio
Project
Scrap book
Check-list
Models
Assessment should be formative and continuous.
Pupils are encouraged to acquire knowledge and
experience all the time
Pupils are given opportunity to improve their
work and the score that they obtained
Evidence produced by the pupils should be kept
for the purpose of coordination.

SCORE
The maximum total score = 50
i.e 30 marks for SPS
20 marks for SMS

Scores are awarded according to the Scoring
scheme.
METHOD FOR ASSESSMENT
Carried out as part of Teaching and Learning
process.
Teachers can assess either one construct/skill or
several constructs/skills at one time.
Pupils can be assessed either individually, a small
group, or the whole class.
Scientific Attitudes and Novel Values should be
assessed simultaneously with other skills.
METHOD FOR ASSESSMENT
Teachers assess, award and record the score
based on the evidence presented by the pupils.
Pupils must submit or show a complete
evidence.
Pupils who have not mastered any assessed
construct, are able to repeat it in another
assignment.
Teachers must plan enough assignments to
ensure that all the constructs have been assessed.

METHOD FOR ASSESSMENT
Pupils should be given adequate chances to
master the required skills before the assessment
is made.
The skills that have been mastered by the pupils
in the earlier Year, need not necessarily be
assessed again in the later Year, unless it
involved a higher level.
The assessment should be carried out four or
five times in each year.
