PROJECT INTRODUCTION

Oranto petroleum is an independent Nigerian company with

operations since 1991 and the company is an active operator in 14
blocks in West Africa and Gulf of Guinea. Its CEO is prince Dr. Arthur Eze.

The CEO recently expressed interest in developing an epitome of

Hospitality in the form of a Hotel and has bestowed the task of dong this
to the Architects at Geometrix.
The city of Abuja being the nations seat of power, hosts hundreds of
conferences domestic and international and as such is a viable ground for
the Hotel business. The choice of Asokoro, Abuja; only complements this.

This is a presentation of our initial design submission. Hope you like it.

THE SITE
AREA = 20,600 SQ. M

LOCATION
MAP
SUN DIRECTION
WIND
According to Geographical data available, the site will be affected by two main
winds i.e. the North East Trade Wind (N-E) and the South West Trade Wind
(S.W). As such the building has been positioned to take maximum advantage of
both winds.

SLOPE
Preliminary inspection of the site revealed that the site had a gentle slope
originating from the South-East border and tending toward the North-West
Border. This appreciable difference in spot heights will allow for easier drainage
of mechanical services. It also dictates that all drainage must tend toward the
North-West Boundary of the Site.
DEVELOPMENT CONTROL REQUIREMENTS

BUILDING SETBACK
The development control Authority stipulates a minimum building setback of
4m from the fence line to the building line and 6m where there is a road. This
standard was met in the planning of the Proposed Hotel as shown left- below.

HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The development control Authority stipulates a MAXIMUM OF 4 suspended
floors for tall developments within the Asokoro Area. This standard was met in
the planning of the Proposed Hotel as shown right- above.
