The transfer process is affected by a
number of factors that either HELP or
HINDER the message.
Importance of Communication
...is to know and be knowledgeable about
important concerns in their organization:
what their organization is
what objectives wants to achieve
what their roles are in achieving the organizations
objectives
how they will achieve those objectives
who the individual member of the organizations are

COMMUNICATION
FILTERING
refers to manipulation of
information so that it will be seen
more favorably by the receiver.
SELECTIVE PERCEPTION
receivers selectively see and
hear messages based on their
needs, motivations,
experience, background, and
other personal characteristics.
INFORMATION OVERLOAD
refers to the condition in which
information inflow exceeds an
individuals processing capacity.
EMOTIONS
The receivers feelings affect
his ability to understand any
message sent to him.
LANGUAGE
Words do not always mean the
same thing to different people.
COMMUNICATION APPREHENSION
refers to undue tension and
anxiety about oral
communication, written
communication or both.
ABSENCE OF FEEDBACK
does not provide the sender the
opportunity to correct misimpressions
about the message sent.
PHYSICAL SEPARATION
refers to inferences to effective
communication occurred I the
environment where the
communication is undertaken.

UPWARD COMMUNICATION
refers to messages from person in
lower lever positions to persons in
higher position.
HORIZONTAL COMMUNICATION
refers to messages sent to
individuals or groups from another of
the same organizational level of
position.
IMPROVING COMMUNICATION IN
ORGANIZATIONS
1. The message should be improved so it
would be easily understood.
2. The receiver must improve his skill and
understanding the messages sent to
him.
