Is an extremely contagious viral disease. It is known to occur
mainly in children during peak summer.
Caused by: The mumps virus, it is transmitted when an infected
person sneezes or coughs.
Symptoms: One of the most common symptoms is the swelling
up of the persons salivary glands at the base of the neck. It
typically starts with a few days of fever, headache, muscle aches,
tiredness, and loss of appetite, and is followed by swelling of
salivary glands.
Precautions: The MMR vaccine (Measels, Mumps and rubella)
can help protect you from contracting the disease.
CATARCT
Overexposure to ultraviolet light can
cause cataracts, retinal damage and
other eye problems.
Eye infection like - styes, bacterial and
viral conjunctivitis are also seen with
increased frequency and causes
widespread weakness in body.
MEASLES
Also called rubeola or morbilli, it is a common condition seen in the
summers.
Caused by: The paramyxo virus, it infects the lining at the back of the
throat. It is transmitted the same way as chicken pox.
Symptoms: Its initial symptoms are high fever, cough, runny nose, sore
throat and red eyes. These symptoms later progress to whats called a
measles rash (rashes that look like small red spots), fever, cough, runny nose
and tiny white spots within the mouth. The measles rashes usually appear 3-
5 days after the initial symptoms and start around the hairline and face in
most cases.
Precaution: The MMR vaccine (Measels, Mumps and Rubella) usually
given to all children is highly efficient in preventing the disease from
occurring.
Chicken Pox
Symptoms: Some of the first symptoms are fever,
headache and sore throat
Measles

sun or have fair skin/hair or are over 50
years of age, are more at risk of getting
skin cancer.

When heat of the sun ends it gives way to the
fall of leaves . The days of a normal and progressive
transition between the seasons have long passed,
these days most of the world is suffering from drastic
weather fluctuations.
Here is a list of the most common five
afflictions caused by the heavy fluctuations in
temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure
that come before during the fall.
The Common Cold
Causes
Rain, strong wind and humidity variations are all factors
that contribute to lowering our immune system by putting in
front of us foreign microbes, making it easier for us to catch a
cold.
Prevention
The good thing is these autumn colds usually aren't as
sever as those in the winter season, however it is still important
to see a doctor and treat them to prevent the risk of a viral
infection.
Another common disease during this time of year is ulcer, which can
have many underlying causes like smoking, alcohol, stress, poor eating habits,
chronic diseases , genetically factors or bacterial infections with Helicobacter
Pylori.
PREVENTION
The most common symptoms are variations in appetite, pain and
vomiting. Gastric ulcer pains are more common immediately after a meal .

As soon as the body experiences a drop in the external
temperature, the process to get accustomed to the new climate
begins
This is the time when most people start to suffer from ailments
like the common cold, coughs, sore throats, and the flu.
Some of the other common winter ailments include dry and
itchy skin, seasonal allergies, chest congestion, and runny
noses.
Here's what can be done to prepare for the approaching
season and keep those winter ailments at bay.
A majority of the winter ailments occur due to a weak
immune system and flagging health.
A strong immune system can not only shield the body
against common ailments and infections but also ward off
other, more serious disorders and diseases.
The immune system can be kept healthy by eating good,
healthy food.
A balanced meal can help a person keep fit.
People suffering from diseases like arthritis and asthma
suffer even more as their symptoms aggravate greatly
during this period of winters.
Taking plenty of rest and exposing the body to adequate
sunlight can also improve immunity.
