Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy
novels. This series, named after the titular
character, chronicle the adventures of
a wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Ronald
Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom
are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns
Harry's quest to overcome the Dark wizard Lord
Voldemort, who aims to become immortal,
conquer the wizarding world, subjugate non-
magical people, and destroy all those who
stand in his way, especially Harry Potter.

Harry James Potter is the title character and the protagonist of J. K.
Rowling's Harry Potter series. The majority of the books' plot covers seven
years in the life of the orphan Potter, who, on his eleventh birthday, learns
he is a wizard. Thus, he attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and
Wizardry to practice magic under the guidance of the kindly
headmaster Albus Dumbledore and other school professors. Harry also
discovers that he is already famous throughout the novel's magical
community, and that his fate is tied with that of Lord Voldemort, the
internationally feared Dark Wizard and murderer of his mother and father.
Ronald Bilius "Ron" Weasley is a fictional character and one of the
three protagonists (the other two being Harry Potter and Hermione
Granger) of J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. His first appearance was in
the first book of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as the
best friend of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. He is a member of the
Weasley family, a pure blood family, who reside in "The Burrow" outside
Ottery St. Catchpole. Along with Harry and Hermione, he is a member of
the Gryffindor house. Ron is present in most of the action throughout the
series.

Hermione Jean Granger is a fictional character in J.K. Rowling's Harry
Potter series. She initially appears in the first novel, Harry Potter and the
Philosopher's Stone, as a new student on her way to Hogwarts. After Harry
and Ron save her from a mountain troll in the girls' toilets, she becomes
close friends with them and often uses her quick wit, deft recall, and
encyclopedic knowledge to help them. Rowling has stated that Hermione
resembles her at a younger age, with her insecurity and fear of failure.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final of
the Harry Potter novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The
book was released on 21 July 2007 by Bloomsbury Publishing in the
United Kingdom, in the United States by Scholastic, and in Canada
by Raincoast Books, ending the series that began in 1997 with the
publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The novel
chronicles the events directly following Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince (2005), and the final confrontation between the wizards Harry
Potter and Lord Voldemort.
Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in
January 2007. Before its release, Bloomsbury reportedly
spent GB10 million to keep the book's contents safe before its
release date. American publisher Arthur Levine refused any copies of
the novel to be released in advance for press review, although two
reviews were submitted early. Shortly before release, photos of all 759
pages of the U.S. edition were leaked and transcribed, leading
Scholastic to look for the source that had
leaked it.
