Introduction:
In this lesson we are going to
compare the worlds view of
success with Gods. We will look
at what it means to have a
Christian vocation/career, and
examine the LAWS that develop
and govern true career success.

Let us bear in mind that
Satan is a master at
deception. For every true
principle that God
teaches, Satan has a
counterfeit.

Message:
I- The perspectives of the world.
(How the world defines success)
1. Some people think success is
measured by their ability to buy
things. They tend to judge your
success by the size of your purchase-
houses, cars, travels etc.

2. They measure success in
terms of achievements. Their
very popular definition of
success states:
Success is the progressive
achievement of a worthwhile
goal.

3. They measure
success through
happiness, peace,
joy and fulfillment.

This does not mean that it is wrong
to have Things. And it doesnt
mean that it is wrong to pursue goals
and value our achievements.
However when our measures for
success becomes Things and
Achievements we settling for far
less than the true success God has
available for us.

II- The principles from the
word of God
1. Always put God first in
your career-
Matt. 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom
of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be
added unto you.

2. Get to know Gods word
and apply it to your life and
career- Ps.1:1-3; Jas.1:22-25; Joshua 1:8
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not
depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou
mayest observe to do according to all that is
written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have
good success.

Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the
counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way
of sinners, nor sitteth in
the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is
in the law of the
LORD; and in his law
doth he meditate day
and night.
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a
tree planted by the rivers of
water, that bringeth forth
his fruit in his season; his
leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth
shall prosper.
James 1:22 But be ye
doers of the word,
and not hearers
only, deceiving your
own selves.
James 1:23 For if any be a
hearer of the word,
and not a doer, he is
like unto a man
beholding his natural
face in a glass:
For he beholdeth
himself, and goeth his
way, and straightway
forgetteth what
manner of man he
was. James 1:24
James 1:25 But whoso
looketh into the perfect law
of liberty, and continueth
therein, he being not a
forgetful hearer, but a doer
of the work, this man shall
be blessed in his deed.

3. Expect big things
from big God-
Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is
able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the
power that worketh in us,

4. Give God the pick
of your income-
Prov.3:9- Honour the LORD
with thy substance, and
with the firstfruits of all
thine increase:

5. Be committed to honesty
and integrity-
Pro 10:11 The mouth of a righteous man is a
well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of
the wicked.
Deut. 25:15 But thou shalt have a perfect and
just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt
thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in
the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

6. Place more value in people
than in your career- 4:1-3
Eph 3:13 Wherefore I desire that ye
faint not at my tribulations for you,
which is your glory.
Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my
knees unto the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ,

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of
the Lord, beseech you that ye walk
worthy of the vocation wherewith
ye are called,
Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and
meekness, with longsuffering,
forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the
unity of the Spirit in the bond of
peace.

7. Be diligent in your
pursuit of career success-
Pro.10:4 He becometh poor that
dealeth with a slack hand: but the
hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Pro 13:4 The soul of the sluggard
desireth, and hath nothing: but the
soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Conclusion:
What plan of action can we develop
to make the seven laws of success?
1.Remain a faithful steward.
2.Be a part of His Church.
3.Be a cheerful giver.
