According to Panel Kajian Aqidah JAKIM (28

December 2010), ASWJ is:
those who understand and adhere to al-Quran and
the Sunnah of the Prophet through the Companions,
Tabiin and Tabi Tabiin who are loyal with them in
terms of Aqidah, Syariah and Akhlaq
1. Understand al-Quran and Sunnah through methods
of Salaf and Khalaf (Asyairah and Maturidiyyah)
2. Wasatiyyah in their understanding, not too extreme
and not too loose (rejected Khawarij, Shiite
Rafidhah, Qadariyyah, Jabariyyah, Mutazilah,
Liberal Islam, religious pluralism etc)
3. Emphasize on unity and Islamic brotherhood
