Business challenges faced by VTB
VTB is an organization that relies heavily on IT and hence a
disciplined change control process is needed, which will ensure
orderly procedures for requesting system modifications,
developing & testing these procedures, certifying them and
introducing them to the production environment.

He was focused more on cross-selling and bundling of products which
require CRM
He wished customers should buy their products throughout the year.
In the case there are multiple instances where he points out that they
need to keep innovating in order to satisfy the customer demand. Thus
CEO is more inclined towards creating products that are more focused
towards satisfying customer needs
This suggest his inclination for developing or acquiring a new CRM;
whichever is feasible.
Also case states him saying about targeting a wrong customer which
suggest they need more analytics on the customer segmentation and
targeting.

CIOS FOREMOST PRIORITY : STANDARDIZATION AND
DOCUMENTATION OF IT ARCHITECTURE
Informal IT architecture existed at VTB. So he targeted the documentation
of IT architecture.
Change controls were minimal
Middleware with its spider-web of application connected by it to
mainframe was the major challenge
Structuring middleware to manage the multiple resource planning
applications
Synchronisation of all the working systems and actually put them to their
maximal use so as to understand its working in fullest sense.
Modernize and standardize systems by improving the current fragmented
way of managing business.
After standardization and documentation of IT architecture as a
completion of short term goal then in long run he wants to implement
ERP package.
