This document discusses three types of tests that leaders must pass: the integrity test, the obedience test, and the word test. The integrity test evaluates a leader's intentions and commitment to convictions. The obedience test teaches a leader to recognize and obey God's voice. The word test involves hearing from God through Scripture and allowing its truths to be learned through suffering. Together, passing these three tests builds the "bridges" over which God develops a leader and expands their ministry.

Integrity test: A test that God uses to evaluate intentions in order to shape character. Leads to expanded sphere of influence 3 Parts: 1. The challenge to consistency with inner convictions 2. The response to the challenge 3. The resulting expansion of ministry All seen in Dan.1:8-21 The Obedience Test A test where a leader learns to recognize, understand and obey Gods voice Obedience is something that you must LEARN! though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. Heb.5:8 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
The Word Test As a leader you must HEAR from God but what does that mean? It is receiving truth from God. It is LEARNING through suffering(Heb.5:8) What have you learned from suffering? 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, Teaching Ps.119:104 Reproof Pr.6:23 Correction Heb.12:6-7 Instruction Pr.9:9-10 The power of influence is to BE influenced by Gods Word. This is the basis of spiritual authority. Godly leaders display a love for the truth. Godly leaders feed themselves on the Word High level of appreciation of truth Cultivate habits for intake of truth Respond in obedience to truth A word check is the process that tests a leaders ability to understand and/or receive a word from God personally and then allow God to work it out in his or her life. Success leads to more truth which in turn leads to more spiritual authority in your life giving greater capacity to lead These checks are frequently combined with integrity and obedience checks. 1 Sam.3:1-10 Note Samuel Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. God spoke His discipline for Elis house to Samuel! He told him everything! 1 Sam.3:19-21
Word Obedience Integrity Failure in passing these checks results in repeated lessons and lengthened development time. It can result in removal from ministry Success in these 3 areas is the bridge over which God proceeds in His development of a leader. Do you think God proceeds when these bridges are not built safe? Can you name one of these checks from Scripture? Can you think of one of these checks in your life?
