An excellent opportunity for global PanIIT conference to capture the interest and imagination of a very large number of alumni in south central US, which is also home to a large, diverse industrial base It is time to move to the heartland of the US and hold the event in the fourth largest city and the fastest growing area of the US. A strong appetite and passion among local alumni for bringing PanIIT 2011 to Houston since the event has not been held in this region Past events held in the East, West and North. The next logical choice is South. IIT branding within this area has been sporadic and spotty, built on local efforts It is time we expand the IIT branding to the technologies of the future, e.g. energy, biotechnology, nanotechnology Alumni resources from this area have not been garnered effectively for nation building nor for advocacy for the alma mater It is time we capture the untapped alumni power in these areas and bring new perspective to our movement
