INSTITUTION

Har-Chia Hui Peng (Director/ Studies (High School)
has indicated that the school wishes to visit the ASMS
in 2012 to:

1: investigate the curriculum offerings of the ASMS

2: investigate links with the
Research programs running
at the ASMS

3: Action Research

ACTION:
1: investigate the curriculum offerings of the ASMS
Such visits are common
at the ASMS. They may require
authorisation by the South
Australian Department of
Education and Childrens Development.
Such visits are organised at the ASMS
by the Assistant Principal, Jayne Heath
who I will alert on my return.

ACTION:
The ASMS runs a 200 minute
per week subject at Year 10 &
11 each year in Semester 2
The Student Inquiry Project.
It would seem to me that links with HCI in regard to
collaboration between students is a distinct possibility.
Research Projects are co-ordinated at the ASMS by
Lisa Pope who I will inform on my return.

ACTION:
The ASMS is committed to
sharing curriculum with other
Education institutions and
investigating alternative offerings.
The Discovery Trails are in this category. Design
Practicals are also currently part of the focus of my
Action Research (in collaboration with Neil Davis) in
regard to Literacy in Science
3: investigate Design Practicals currently being trialed
at HCI by Emily Li Sze Ying and Esther Tay Wei Jing

Initial discussions have taken place with
1. Louden County Public Schools Academy
of Science
2. Dunman High School
3. Nanyang Girls High School
4. Scarsdale High School
LINKS WITH LOUDEN COUNTY PUBLIC
SCHOOLS ACADEMY OF SCIENCE


ACTION:
The ASMS runs a 300 minute per week subject at
Year 10 & 11 - Maths & Abstract Thinking.
It would seem to me that links with Louden/HCI in
regard to collaboration between staff is a distinct
possibility. The MAT programs are co-ordinated at the
ASMS by Jo Kellaway (and Tania Nethercote) who I will
inform on my return. Initial discussions with George and
Judy Wolfe have taken place.

ordinated at the ASMS by Lisa Pope who I will inform
on my return. Initial discussions with Beth Schoenbrun
have taken place.

ACTION:
The ASMS runs a similar Project in its University
Studies Electives model power boat races. I will pass
on the information to Matt Jamieson (Co-ordinator)
with the possibility of him sharing ideas with Lee Wei
Keong

ACTION:
The ASMS has an ICT- rich
Learning environment. Mark
Shones presentation offers
new insights especially in
regard to Science which I believe
should be investigated. I will discuss this with our ICT
co-ordinator Thom Burns. I have already established
links with Mark.

FAIR 2012

The ASMS runs a Science
Fair annually. This is
usually organised by the
Deputy Principal Graeme
Oliver.

I intend putting forward the
case to him to invite the

AN ASSEMBLY EARLY IN FEBRUARY (AND
WRITE REPORT FOR NEWSLETTER).
STAFF REPORT TO ASMS
I intend reporting officially to the
staff at a staff meeting when I
return. I expect to report on
numerous occasion unofficially
at lunch and recess breaks.

I intend passing this Action Plan
to Leadership for due
consideration

I will also be discussing aspects
individually with others.
