Public Access to information (via Public Health, Fire Department, Ministry of Labour) WHMIS Includes Any material with one or more of the following properties: Compressed gas Flammable and combustible Oxidizing Poisonous and infectious Corrosive Dangerously reactive WHMIS Does not include: 1. Wood or products made of wood 2. Tobacco or products made of tobacco 3. Manufactured articles 4. Products under Transportation of Dangerous Goods WHMIS Partial exemptions (Training is required, MSDS and WHMIS labels are not required): Explosives Food and drugs Pest control products Radioactive materials (CNSC-controlled) Consumer products Hazardous waste
Supplier Labels Should be on any WHMIS-controlled product purchased in Canada Products imported from other countries might not have an acceptable label
