THE BATTLE FOR LIFE

Part 4

2 Cor.10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war
according to the flesh. For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for
pulling down strongholds, casting down
arguments and every high thing that exalts itself
against the knowledge of God, bringing every
thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Eccl.9:13-15
This wisdom I have also seen under the sun, and
it seemed great to me: There was a little city
with few men in it; and a great king came against
it, besieged it, and built great snares- around it.
Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and
he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one
remembered that same poor man.

Eccl.9:16-18

Then I said:
Wisdom is better than strength.
Nevertheless the poor mans wisdom is despised,
And his words are not heard.
Words of the wise, spoken quietly, should be heard
Rather than the shout of a ruler of fools.
Wisdom is better than weapons of war;
But one sinner destroys much good.

 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy,

according to the prophecies previously made
concerning you, that by them you may wage
the good warfare, 1 Tim.1:18

 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself

with the affairs of this life, that he may please
him who enlisted him as a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:4
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary
the devil walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour. 1 Pet. 5:8

 Sober nepho; to be mentally self controlled

Vigilant gregoreuo; to keep awake; to watch;
it is the idea of waking from inactivity
The only thing needed for evil to prevail is for
people to do nothing.

 When the church is passive, indifferent or

carnal, the powers of hell increase their rule
over the affairs of men: marriages fall into
crises, children rebel, crime increases, and
wantonness and lust becomes unbridled.
2 Sam. 11:1

 When the church on earth is aggressive in its

agreement with the will and Word of God,
then the presence of God increases in the
spiritual realm, proportionally displacing the
influence of hell on earth!
