Financial Data Quality Management,

Enterprise Edition (FDMEE)

Fully integrated web based data management tool

created for Finance & Accounting users
Intuitive, guided workflow
Process data from virtually any source
Robust mapping/transformation capabilities
Powerful data validation & quality checks
Target System Integration Enhancements
Enterprise wide process monitoring
Predelivered reporting
Full lights out capability
Prebuilt source system integration & Drill Thru

Workflow

Import: Data is extracted from source, imported

into FDMEE database and maps are applied
Validate: Confirms that all data is mapped, for
HFM, confirms mapped intersection is valid
Export: Exports data from FDMEE database and
loads target application then runs consolidation
Check: Retrieves post calculated/aggregated
balances from target system, checks against
administrator defined thresholds to determine data
quality

On 1 Screen

View Source and Target Data

View Mapped, Unmapped & Ignored records
Hide/Show Additional columns
Sort up to 3 columns concurrently
Change column Order

Multi Column Filtering

FDMEE Mapping Enhancements

Additional mapping options

Update multiple dimensions from single map
Validate option
Merge Import option
Apply maps to specific data load rules

MultiDimensional Maps

Determine target based on multiple dimensions

Similar to varValues without needing to script

Supports Wildcarding
Supports multiple dimensions
Only applies to source values

Updating Multiple Dimensions at Once

Jython or SQL scripts

SQL is better from a performance perspective

Validate Mapping Outside of Workflow

Validate all mapping records, not just newly

entered items

Enhancement request filed to give On/Off

option to force validate on save

Import Maps from Excel

Merge mode will

update maps based
on Rule Name

Value (Explicit)

Data Load Rule Specific Maps

Allows mapping logic to be specific to a data load

rule
Not required to be specified
Only 1 data load rule can be specified for a
mapping record

Enhancement filed to extend to data load rules of

locations assigned a parent map

Data Validation & Quality

Intersection Validation
Out of the box for HFM
Scripting process possible to extend to Essbase

Multiproduct Business Cases

Scenario 1: Different Dimensionality

Scenario 2: Same Dimensions, Different
Granularity
Scenario 3: Same Dimensions, Same
Granularity

Scenario 1: Different Dimensionality

HFM: Entity, Account, ICP, Cost Center

Essbase: Entity, Account, ICP, Cost Center,
Product, Market

Key Questions
Do HFM adjustments/eliminations get loaded to
Essbase?

Scenario 2: Same Dimensionality,

Different Granularity

HFM: Entity, Account, ICP, Division

Planning: Entity, Account, ICP, Product

Key Questions
Do HFM adjustments/eliminations get loaded to
Essbase?
Does Plan/Fcst need to be loaded to HFM?
Are these EPMA enabled apps?
Which application is the system of record?

Scenario 3: Same Dimensions and

Granularity

HFM & Planning: Entity, Account, ICP, Cost

Center, Product Family

Key Questions
Do HFM adjustments/eliminations get loaded to
Essbase or duplicated/calcd in Essbase?
Does Plan/Fcst need to be loaded to HFM?
Are these EPMA enabled apps?
Is drill thru needed?
Do individual users need to sync data?

In Summary

Is drill thru required?

How does the dimensionality align?
How does the granularity align?
What is the timing required?
What is the performance expectation?
