The details of measurements of each

item of work are taken out
and quantities of each and every
item is computed in a prescribed
form known as measurement form as under :-

The unit of different works depend
on their nature, size & shape.
In general,the units of different
item of work are based on
the principals mentioned further :-

1. Mass,voluminous and thick works shall

be taken in cubic unit or
volume. the measurements of length,
width and height or depth shall
be taken to compute the volume
or cubic contents

2.

Shallow,thin and surface works shall

be taken in square unit or
in area. the measurement of length
and width or height shall be
taken to compute the area.

3.

Long and thin work is taken in running unit.

4.

piece work, job work is taken in number.
