BRUSHING TEETH
BEFORE BED

The habit of brushing teeth before bed


in Indonesia is still lacking, people
usually just brush he teeth when he
was bathing in the morning and
afternoon.
According to the American Dental
Association, brushing two times a day
with toothpaste, specially after
breakfast and before bed, helps to
reduce plaque formation.

Activity at night will usually be


increased 2 times compared to the
day, because since we slept in where
our mouths are not doing activities
like eating, drinking, or talking.
Why should we brush our teeth at
night before bed? We've all heard it
from our parents and dentists "Brush
your teeth before bed! Right??

your mouth can affect your teeth,
like coffee, tea, chocolate, rice ect
and causing food stuck between
teeth.
When food stusk on the teeth while
we sleep, especially if it is sugary or
acidic, that invites bacteria it will
start to break down the enamel
around our teeth and cause caries.

stuck food but caused by your diet,
instead of bad breath caused by
infections and rotting foods in your
mouth.

surfactants, and acid neutralizers that clean
the teeth gently. In addition, some
toothpastes have fluoride that strengthens

tooth discoloration and mottled teeth. This
condition is called dental fluorosis. Use only a
small amount of toothpaste (about the size of
a pea), and avoid swallowing toothpaste and
other dental hygiene products. After
brushing, spit out the toothpaste and rinse
your mouth with water.
