Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)

The governing arm of CTA is the Chicago
Transit Board. Terry Peterson serves as
Chairman. The board consists of seven
members, four appointed by the Mayor of
Chicago and three by the Governor of
Illinois.
The Mayor's appointees are subject to the
approval of the Governor and the Chicago
City Council; the Governor's appointees
are subject to the approval of the Mayor
and the Illinois State Senate. CTA's dayto-day operations are directed by Forrest
The Privateer Claypool, President.

City Colleges $723 million (including capital), (2015)


McPier (McCormick Place and Navy Pier)
$226 million in operating expenses (2013)
Public Building Commission
Manages construction and renovation projects.

In Conclusion

The City Council approved increasing the Mayors borrowing


authority to $900 million
this past February. Source wbez.org.
The City Council approved increasing the Mayors borrowing
authority to $1 billion for
Midway Airport (how much work or Black contractors and
workers?).
Avoids paying the $557 million pension payment until next
year.
The city will have to borrow up to $65 million to pay for back
pay owed to

The city budget has allocated only $71 million for police
overtime pay for 2015,
although 2014 police overtime costs exceeded $100 million.
