Vanillin from G

Names of team members, roll no,

etc.

Vanillin
Vanillin is a phenolic aldehyde.
It is primarily extracted from vanilla bean.
Synthetic vanillin is used more often as a flavouring
agent and pharmaceuticals. It is due to cost factor,
high profit margin and scarcity of naturally available
vanillin compared to the demand.
The first commercial synthesis of vanillin began with
the more readily available natural compound
eugenol.
Today, artificial vanillin is made either fromguaiacol
or fromlignin or other biotechnological methods like
rice straw or wheat grass..etc
