Propsito General
rea de Estudio
El rea de estudio comprende el margen Norte costa afuera de
Venezuela, as como las lagunas y lagos ubicados desde el Golfo de
Venezuela hasta el Delta del Orinoco. Esta zona representa una zona de
contacto entre la Placa del Caribe y la Placa Suramericana, la cual es
atravesada por un sistema de fallas transcurrentes dextrales que
dominan la tectnica de la regin (Mann and Escalona, 2005).

magnetic susceptibility and lineation magnetic dont show differences between the hemipelagic normal sedimentation and the homogeneous
coseismic sedimentation. The magnetic foliation (AMS) is much higher in the homogenites than in the hemipelagic deposits, this high foliation
contrast has to be explained by different arrays of phyllosilicates, associate to specific settling conditions related to water mass oscillation.
