Osmoza

(Osmosis)

Definitie
Osmozareprezintdifuziunea solventului

(apei) n general printr-o membran

(semi)permeabil ca de exemplu celulele vii
datorit permeabilitii membranei celulare i
poate fi simpl sau facilitat .
(Osmosis represents the diffusion of the
solvent (water) generally across a membrane
(semi) permeable such as living cells due to
the permeability of the cell membrane, and
may be simple or facilitated.)

Osmoza inversa
(Reversed Osmosis)
Procesul de osmoza inversa se realizeaza prin trecerea apei

printr-o membrana semipermeabila, porozitate 0,1

nm(0,0001 microni) sub actiunea unei presiuni foarte mari. In
The reverse osmosis is carried out by passing the water
through a semipermeable membrane, porosity 0.1 nm
(0.0001 microns) under the action of high pressure. In this
way, pure water molecules pass through the membrane,
while the contaminants remain in the water which will be
discharged into drains. So reverse osmosis has an input and
two outputs - one of pure water (permeated) and a waste
water (concentrated).

Presiunea osmotica
(Osmotic Pressure)
Presiunea osmotica(p) este presiunea exercitata de

moleculele substantei dizolvate asupra peretilor vasului sau

asupra unor membrane semipremeabile.
Punerea in evidenta a presiunii osmotice se face cu ajutorul
osmometrului
Doua solutii care au exact aceeasi presiune osmotica se
numescsolutii izotonice.

Osmotic pressure (p) is the pressure of solute molecules on the

vessel wall or on semipermeable membranes.

Highlighting the osmotic pressure is done using the osmometer.
Two solutions that have exactly the same osmotic pressure are
called isotonic solutions.

Importanta
(Importance)
Osmoza joaca un rol foarte important in viata

plantelor si animalelor. Astfel, protoplasma

celulelor vii joaca rolul unei membrane
semipermeabile, care nu permite decat
anumitor substante sa patrunda sau sa
paraseasca celula, fiind impermeabila pentru
altele.
(Osmosis plays a very important role in plant
and animal life. The protoplasm of living cells
plays a semipermeable membrane role that
allows only certain substances to enter or
leave the cell, being impervious for others.)
