I Quit Being Powerless

Col.1: 18-21
He was supreme in the beginning and
leading the resurrection paradehe is supreme
in the end. From beginning to end hes there,
towering far above everything, everyone. So
spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of
God finds its proper place in him without
crowding.

 Not only that, but all the broken and

dislocated pieces of the universe
people and things, animals and
atomsget properly fixed and fit
together in vibrant harmonies, all
because of his death, his blood that
poured down from the cross.

 Jesus is the most powerful person

ever to have walked the earth.
He was present in eternity, in
creation, in the fall, and in the
restoration of man and all things
BACK to God.
He is the central figure in His-story.

 This PERSON has chosen you!

You did not choose me. I chose you.
And I gave you this work: to go and
produce fruitfruit that will last.
Then the Father will give you
anything you ask for in my name.
This is my command: Love each

 Love is the basis of this choicelove is choice

I have loved you as the Father has loved me.
Now continue in my love. Jn.15:9
Jesus chose you in the midst of the most
difficult circumstances.
while you were enemiesalienated(Col.1)

3 Possible Roles

The VICTIM
The RESCUER
The BAD GUY
The results of these roles is perpetual anxiety
because I feel out of control.
Anxiety builds because I cant control me and I
certainly cant control you.
Without control I cant feel loved or give love

 Choices are driven by one of two forces:

FEAR
LOVE
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love
casts out fear, because fear involves
torment. But he who fears has not been
made perfect in love.

 Relationships today MUST be built on LOVEI

CHOOSE YOUand not fearyou chose me!
Gods love empowers people to make good
choices, and to take full responsibility for that
choice!
Jesus did not come to cement your identity as
a victim but to make you a son!

 It takes a certain kind of person to

have enduring, intimate relationships
like thispowerful!
You being secure in His love makes
you free to BE who you are, and to
take the power over YOUR OWN LIFE.
