Air conditioner is a device which provide conditioning of
air as desire i.e. Supplying & maintane desirable internal
atmosphere condition for human comfort , irrespective
of external conditions .
This device in its broad sense also provides the
conditioning of air for industrial purpose food
processing , storage of food & other materials

EQUIPMENT USED IN AIR CONDITONING

SYSTEM
o CIRCULATION FAN : moves air to & from the room
o AIR CONDITONING UNIT :it consist of cooling &
dehumidification or heating &humidification

o SUPPLY DUCT : direct the conditioned air to the room from

circulating fan

o RETUN OUTLET & SUPPLY OUTLET : provides grills which

distributes the conditioned air evenly in the room

o FILLTERS : remove dust ,dirt & other harmful bacteria from the air

WINTER AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

In winter air is cool & dry thus it require to heating of air

& humidify .
Outside air flow dampers & mixed with re circulated air
then mixture is passes through filter to remove dust ,
dirt & other impurities .
the air now passes though a pre heating coil in order to
prevent the freezing of water spray in it to humidify by
humidifier .
After that air is made to passes through reheat coil to
bring the air temperature to desired point & passed to
remove through fans

Summer air conditioning

In the summer the temperature of air is very hot & humidity

is also high for conditioning of air it is require to air cool &
dehumidify.
The outside air flow through the damper & mixes with
recirculating air passes through filter.
Air now passes through a cooling coil has below then of the air
dew point temp. This cooled air passes through it losses its
moisture in condensed form which is collectrd by the sump .
Now cool air passes through room.

Types of a/c
WINDOW UNIT : self contained to

3TR and mounted in a

window or through the way . They are employed to condition the air of
one room only . If the room is bigger in size then the two or more units
are required to installed .

Central air conditioning system: this is most important

type of a/c system which is adopted when the cooling capacity is
require to 25 TR or more .
