Assist gas is used to blow off melted

metals during laser cutting process.
Oxygen is mainly used because it
can increase speed of cutting metals
thanks to the usage of oxidization
heat. But if no oxidization at the
cutting surface is required nitrogen or
argon is used.
Nitrogen is mainly used to cut
stainless steel to prevent oxidization
in the market.

Nitrogen is used as an assist gas to

the cutting process; delivered through
cutting head to push the molten
material and debris out the cut zone.
N2 is used for cutting:
Stainless steel
Nickel alloy
Aluminium and its alloy
Inflammable materials
For Slagless and Non-Oxid based
surfaces, and high demands for clean
cut.

1. Compressor
Nitrogen is generated from liquid nitrogen
by evaporator. Booster is normally used to
get working pressure of 4.9MPa and inlet
pressure is set around 0.7MPa. Required
capacity differs depending on laser cutting
system.

Oil content is not specified but it has to be

controlled as low as possible to prevent oil
contamination at the optical lens of laser
cutting system to keep its performance.
Stable working pressure is also required.
